The pictures have a story too.

Original project imagery and new illustrations, with their sources.

Michael Thurber project imagery

Artist photograph, the CDZA image from From the Top’s 2012–2013 report (page 11), studio-detail photograph and release artwork are sourced from the artist’s publicly presented project pages, with reuse authorised by the project owner for this restoration. Original source files and source addresses are retained in the project’s image inventory.

The artist site links its photography credit to Lauren Desberg Photo. We have not assigned a photographer to individual images where the source does not identify that specific image.

Performance and duo photographs

The Tessa Lark and Michael Thurber duo photograph is credited to Lauren Desberg in the Philharmonic Society’s 2024 release. The three bass-performance and portrait images are from NS Design’s Michael Thurber profile; their individual photographers are not identified there.

New editorial still lifes

The warm creative-desk cover, home/work scenes, graphics-card still life, moving boxes, fitting-room scene and kitchen scene were generated for this edition. They are conceptual illustrations, not photographs of Thurber’s real studio, a customer project or a tested product.

Planning maps

MichaelT’s original diagrams translate each guide into a small set of planning or listening prompts. They do not represent experiments, measured results or construction specifications. Text equivalents accompany them.
