Check a milk pitcher against the actual machine and task

Keep nominal capacity, usable fill instructions and physical fit as separate product questions.

A useful way through

  1. Identify the machine, pitcher and intended task. Keep the exact model identifiers, product page and current manual together. A general photograph of a stainless-steel jug cannot establish that it fits your machine or suits a particular preparation.
  2. Distinguish nominal capacity from the permitted working fill. Breville’s BES480MJ product page names a 480 mL jug for its espresso machines; that number alone is not an instruction to fill it completely or proof of compatibility with another model. Read the actual machine and jug instructions.
  3. Check the physical relationship the manufacturer requires, including the jug’s dimensions, handle access and the machine’s arrangement. Record missing information as a supplier question. Do not improvise a steam procedure from the older article’s universal temperature or one-third-fill claims.
  4. Review care and handling requirements for the actual products. Record the source of a compatibility answer and the exact item ordered. If the product or machine changes, repeat the relevant check rather than treating the first answer as a universal recommendation.

Put it into practice

An illustrative buyer compares a product listing that states “480 mL” with a different machine whose required arrangement has not been checked. The record confirms nominal capacity only. Working fill and compatibility remain questions for the exact manuals or manufacturer. No steaming trial or temperature result is claimed.

Illustrative example, not a reported client project or test.

Before you act

Follow the actual manufacturer’s instructions for steam, hot surfaces, fill limits and cleaning. This page does not provide a milk-steaming procedure or a universal compatibility assurance.

Ask for the missing specification

A supplier can answer a model-specific question when given the exact machine and jug. “Will any stainless jug work?” hides the dimensional and operating details that matter.

Use the photograph honestly

The recovered photograph shows a graduated pitcher. It is an example of the object, not proof that it is the Breville model cited in the text or an item tested by this edition.
