A useful way through
- Identify the promoter, intended countries, audience and proposed entry mechanism. Seek the appropriate legal and platform advice before running a promotion; calling it a giveaway does not decide which requirements apply. This worksheet is a prelaunch review, not a live draw.
- Write the exact prize, quantity, eligibility, opening and closing details, entry route and how the terms will be available before entry. Name the responsible approver. Do not replace missing terms with a promise that the organiser will decide later.
- Ask how valid entries, selection and any redraw will be recorded under the applicable rules. UK ASA/CAP guidance expects evidence of a verifiably random computer process or appropriate independent supervision where one is not used. That is a jurisdiction-specific reference, not a universal compliance certificate.
- Review winner contact, fulfilment, privacy and record-retention arrangements with the responsible people. Test only with clearly fictional entries until the promotion is properly approved. Keep evidence that the prize was actually delivered if the draw later runs.

Put it into practice
A fictional proposal offers one art print but does not state a closing time or how duplicate entries are handled. The review marks it not ready. A colourful giveaway image and a random-looking animation do not resolve those gaps or prove fair selection. The organiser obtains the required advice and completes the terms before launch.
Illustrative example, not a reported client project or test.

A useful readiness record
Keep item, current wording, approver, unresolved question and evidence. Include the actual prize specification and fulfilment plan. Do not count a marketing concept as ready merely because the artwork has been approved.
What this page deliberately does not do
It does not accept entries, choose a winner or provide a random-selection tool. The useful task is identifying missing decisions before inviting participants. Properly approved terms and a documented selection method must come from the responsible promoter and advisers.
