Plan a private occasionwear fitting around the actual outfit

Check the combination, preferences and fitting arrangements without treating a body shape, colour or size label as a problem to fix.

Follow the task

  1. Define the wearing situation

Write down which outfit, movement and level of coverage you want to try. Let the wearer choose the language and priorities. An occasion does not oblige anyone to choose a particular garment or change how their body looks.

  2. Check the combination

With the wearer’s consent, compare the proposed layers under the actual outfit in ordinary lighting. A white outer garment does not by itself decide the preferred underlayer colour. Keep comfort and the wearer’s own opinion separate from someone else’s aesthetic rule.

  3. Ask about the fitting process

Confirm the appointment’s privacy, what to bring and whether assistance is optional. Use the specific seller’s sizing and return information. Do not send intimate photographs or body measurements in a general public enquiry when a private fitting can resolve the question appropriately.

  4. Record the decision privately

Keep only the product identifiers and the questions needed for the next appointment. Avoid identifiable photos or unnecessary body details in a shared planning document. Recheck the combination if either garment or its alterations change.

A worked example

A fictional wearer wants to try two underlayers with an occasion dress. The appointment brief asks for a private room and records the two product codes, not photographs or body descriptions. One option shows at the neckline in the wearer’s chosen movement; the other is preferred. That preference is recorded without presenting it as a rule for every wearer.

Illustrative example, not a reported purchase, client project or product test.

Keep the distinction clear

A successful fitting answers a particular person’s questions. It is not an opportunity to promise health benefits, prescribe support or rank body types. If an item causes pain or another health concern, this worksheet cannot assess it. Use appropriate professional advice instead of a generic shopping article.

Where this guide stops

Not medical advice or a universal fit rule. All body information and intimate imagery require the wearer’s control and privacy.
