Check a visa article against the exact current route

Keep the route, stream, application stage and dated official source together before relying on an old eligibility checklist.

Identify the route precisely

Record the country, subclass or route name, stream and the question you need answered. Distinguish an initial application, an extension, an existing application and a later permanent route. Similar names do not establish the same eligibility or availability. The Australian subclass 188 page is linked as one named starting point; it is not a substitute for the route relevant to an individual.

Find the current official status

Use the responsible immigration authority’s actual route information and dated notices. Record when you checked them and whether the relevant content was accessible. If a dynamic page does not expose the status clearly, leave it unconfirmed and use the authority’s official enquiry or appropriate authorised adviser. Do not turn a cached checklist or an old advertisement into evidence that new applications are open.

Keep documents and eligibility separate

Make a tracker for the documents the current official process actually requests. Record requirement wording, source, translation or certification questions and whether the item is available. Having a bank statement or relationship document does not decide that it satisfies an eligibility rule. Do not upload private identity, financial or relationship records to this website or place them in a publicly shared comparison.

Record the professional question

Summarise the exact unresolved status or requirement for the authority or an appropriately authorised adviser. Keep their dated answer and relevant scope. Do not generalise a closure or change affecting one provisional stream to every related permanent route. This page does not calculate points, approve evidence, quote fees, predict processing time or recommend a migration strategy.

A historical checklist needs a new check: The old checklist retains its date. Current availability must be checked for the exact stream and application stage, not inferred from a related route.

Work through an example

A fictional reader has a 2021 checklist for route R, stream S. The current official status for a new application has not been confirmed, so collecting documents is not recorded as proof that an application can be lodged. The reader asks about the exact stream and application stage, keeping the old checklist as historical context only.

Illustrative example; figures, people and organisations in the worked record are fictional.

Keep your own record

Use the result within its scope

Use current official information and appropriate authorised advice for the actual case. A document tracker is an organisational aid, not immigration advice or a statement of eligibility.
