In today's volatile economy, most of us try to save here and there. And when it comes time to bring homes to market, some homeowners choose not to rent professional homes.
There is no judgment here, we all decide for ourselves what is best for us. But for homeowners, here are some tips on how to get your home ready ‘for sale’ (also known as ‘A vendre’ in the French Language) if you are on a budget.

1. Start by applying boundaries. Your house should look neat and tidy: cut grass, remove dry or dead flowers and plants, spray it all over the house to remove cobwebs and dirt. This gives the house a freshly painted look.
2. Remove all personal items inside: photos, collections, awards, antiques. This will distract potential buyers from the home and prevent them from mentally applying.
3. Remove all clutter and extra furniture. Extra seating, side tables, sculptures, books, magazines – all of this creates chaos and you want the room to look as open and spacious as possible. For example, most tableware can have four seats instead of six.
4. In the kitchen, remove everything from the table. All small utensils, tissue holders, cutting boards, etc – hide all in the cupboard. They enhance the appearance of your table and make your home look like exactly what buyers are looking for. A nice fruit vase or a few small items will make your kitchen look more welcoming.
